Sunny Hues

If you live in Marin Country like me, then chances are you are as sick of this rain as I am! Luckily you can beat cabin fever (yes, it is real!) with colorful florals. When deciding what flower recipe to teach at my floral workshop at Hotel Majestic tonight I could not help but think of sunny yellow hues. Sunflowers and roses mixed with textures like Bells of Ireland and solidago are the perfect way to bring a hint of the sun to any space.

Recipe

  • 1/2 Ruscus

  • 3 Sunflowers

  • 5 Roses

  • 2 Bells of Ireland

  • 2 Solidago

Materials

  • Floral Tape

  • Clippers

  • Rose Strippers

Method

  1. Line your vase with ribbon of your choice.

  2. Fill your vase half-way with lukewarm water.

  3. Make a tic-tac-toe grid with your clear floral tape.

  4. Green your vase with ruscus.

  5. Add sunflowers

  6. Strip your roses and add them in/around ruscus and sunflowers.

  7. Cut your Bell of Ireland in half, since you have use both the top and bottom half in your arrangement.

  8. Fill any gaps in your arrangement with solidago.
